Mission Statement for Salt and Light Outreach Ministries

Our greatest desire is to be the hands and feet of Jesus. We know that a community is only as strong as its weakest link. Salt and Light Outreach Ministries exists to glorify God, and God alone, by living out the words of Jesus in Matthew 5:13–16—being the salt of the earth and the light of the world. Our heart in all of this is to come together in fellowship, prayer, and worship, to grow as disciples of Christ, and to live out His love in tangible ways within our community. We desire to grow in Biblical Love together.

We gather not only to study and share the Word of God but also to share meals, encourage one another, and create a place of belonging for all. We especially extend our hands and hearts to the poor, the broken, the addict, and those facing mental health challenges—believing that the Gospel must be lived as much as it is preached.

Through compassion and action, we seek to be the hands and feet of Jesus, meeting both spiritual and practical needs, and shining His light so that others may glorify our Father in heaven.

Scripture Foundations of Our Mission:

  • “You are the salt of the earth… You are the light of the world.” (Matthew 5:13–14)

  • “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in.” (Matthew 25:35)

  • “Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together.” (Hebrews 10:24–25)

  • “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor… to set the oppressed free.” (Luke 4:18)

  • “Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” (1 John 3:18)

Our Commitment:

  • To create a safe and welcoming place of fellowship for the entire community.

  • To disciple and equip believers through the study of God’s Word.

  • To reach out with love and compassion to the most vulnerable.

  • To demonstrate the truths of Scripture through acts of service in Bolivar and the surrounding areas.

  • To positively impact the Bolivar by being living testimonies of Christ’s love.

  • To strengthen our community by teaching and training people how to truly love their neighbor
